I connected it between my Yamaha PSR-SX720 and the PC. This connection is only for the midi signal. The noise was reduced by 80-90%, but I could still hear it if I listen carefully on full volume through my headphones. I then use a 5V mobile charger and plugged it into the iDefender's side (which was suggested by some reviewers on Amazon) and that totally elimited all nosie. I am not sure why the extra power is needed since the PSR-SX720 are power by an external power source and not by USB. Anyway I feel really happy that it fixed my noise problem.

additional ground point the PC obviously is inadequate with. I experienced this with other USB midi devices,
if they offered DC power I used that, and like you found, it eliminated the noise.
sometimes USB ports have poor grounding or the motherboard of the PC
has poor grounding to the chassis (I don't use laptops for making music) sometimes the PC's PSU can have
poor grounding. Often for a quick fix, the noise can be eliminated by taking a length of wire attached to the chassis the PC,
somewhere with bare metal. Then attach the other end of the wire to the chassis of an amplifier
(same as you do with record player)
