Yamaha Montage and Montage M Forum • Streaming waves and .X7U user space Montage M.

Hi Guys

I finally got my brand new M6 and cannot wait to dig deep into this machine. I spend 4 days multi sampling all the external sounds I need in Samplerobot to get up and running as soon as possible to do my live show work without having to program each patch from scratch. Sampling would also make it easier to let go of some of my beloved (old) gear. As I understand, user space is 3.8GB and I assume there is no way to stream multisamples from a flash drive? In my case I sampled 6.2GB worth of content. Converting it to .X7U reduces it to 3.2GB. That's only 116 multisamples (the largest being 134mb with only 4 velo layers) leaving out the 8 layer 700mb multi sampled acoustic piano`s and such.

Does this mean i`m already 0.6GB removed from the max when I load them all in? If Samplerobot finally support the M and opens the door to actually make use of the full 128 elements, you can just run a few multi samples before storage is full? As I missing something? I read in the manual the M can stream separate wave files from flash drives, which could solve my single wave form needs, but am I totally restricted with multisamples?
