I've owned several FS1Rs and the editor when it came out but I sold them off a long time ago. Everyone knows that true story that the FS1R was so unpopular Yamaha was giving them away for $500 I think at one point. Obviously the editor brought it back form the dead. FM was so cool and different during the 80s but probably the most famous of all sounds was the EP FM piano like they used on the CP1 (it only had 4 versions) and then every stage board after that mostly just a sampled version of it. I like it mostly for EP piano type and bell type tones. Yamaha put FM inside the SeqTrak for what $25? Really that's all it costs? The whole piece has been speculated to cost $100 to manufacturer so what I'm speculating the FM was $25 to implement. Apparently there's noting to it. I'd rather have true analog.
