Bogdan,
Nice work, and I hope my Post will go through this time. My login has been plagued for a long time, BUT -- it currently looks like it will work.
Very good summary of what you've explored since I asked about this to you! That took quite a bit of time, so thanks!
Let's add one other aspect that you didn't mention --- my comparison when I tried YOUR sampled voice --- BH Grand Piano.
I could immediately tell that there was a difference (for the better!) compared to my SX-900 default COncert Grand voice.
But remember, in my case, it was on the notes Bb3 B3 C4 C#4 (right in the center of the keybed) using Full Keyboard fingering mode.
(You mentioned it was an octave lower in your testing --- I wonder if perhaps you had split fingering??) I don't notice the "banjo" sound on any other keys.
If we refer to absolute frequencies, I encountered this on Bb3 (233 Hz) B3 (247 Hz) C4 (261 Hz) C#4 (277 Hz) My spectrum analyzer plugin confirms those specific frequencies.
Also, I noticed the same issue with the Pan control that you mentioned. My workaround was to use my external mixer to mute one channel to listen to the other, and it was very noticeable on the Right side channel on the default ConcertGrand, and no problem on the BH GrandPiano.
At this point, I am glad that you confirmed that what I was hearing was not some fluke on my keyboard! When playing normally, especially with Accompaniment on, it's not that obvious, but playing Solo piano brings it out.
Regards, Jerry
