Yamaha Montage and Montage M Forum • Re: Program change problem with Montage M

Lets remember that I started the thread based on the differences of the Midi implementation and therefore system behavior between the Montage and its successor Montage M! So the Montage M is behaving completely different in the same setup.

I have mentioned it before: The classic Montage behaves like the Montage M. I have a classic Montage, and I have checked that the parts change when it receives program change messages on the corresponding channel. Same for the Roland Fantom.

I can only guess why you have not experienced it on your classic Montage. Maybe you are using the classic Montage with MIDI I/O mode SINGLE or HYBRID. These modes no longer exist on the Montage M, because they were only necessary on the classic Montage for the multi-part tones (e.g. CFX Concert).
