Hi,
Portamento and Mono/Poly (as well as the other Play Mode parameters) are in fact Part parameters, and not Voice parameters. They are therefore stored to the current Performance (parts 1-16), and not to the User Voice.
When a part has Mono and Portamento activated, any voice selected for that part will be monophonic and with portamento. Selecting a specific voice on parts that have different Play Mode settings will thus result in different behavior. I don’t know Melas’ editor well, but I would strongly assume that it handles the parameters in the same way that the hardware does.
Could it perhaps be that you were editing your synth voice on a part which had the correct settings, and then tried to call up the same voice on a different part?
